Privacy Policy
Grant automates permissions for apps you choose on your own Android device. This policy describes what the app accesses and what it does not send away from the phone.
Who we are
Grant is published as a paid download on Google Play. Privacy questions: privacy@example.com. Replace this address in website/config.js before you publish.
What Grant does not do
- No user accounts and no sign-in.
- No cloud backend and no analytics SDK.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with advertisers.
- No processing of your data on our servers — we do not operate an app server for Grant.
Data processed on the device
Grant stores configuration and logs locally so automation can run. Depending on the features you enable, that can include:
- Installed apps. Used so you can pick target apps for a profile. Grant declares
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGESfor this picker. - Bluetooth device names and addresses. Used only as triggers you select (for example a car head unit or headphones).
- Wi‑Fi network name (SSID). Used only for Wi‑Fi rules you configure. Android requires Location to be on for the SSID to be readable.
- Device location. Used for Wi‑Fi matching and, when you enable it, as a temporary location baseline while a profile is active. Location is restored when the cycle ends.
- Calendar event metadata. Used only for schedule blackouts you configure (title/time matching to quiet grants).
- Activity and diagnostic logs. Stored on-device so you can review Insights and the activity log. You can share a report yourself; Grant does not upload logs automatically.
- Profile backups. JSON files you export or import using the system file picker. Pairing secrets and live runtime state are not included in the backup file.
Wireless debugging / local shell
Grant talks to your phone over wireless debugging (local mDNS pairing and LAN/loopback ADB). That connection stays on your network. After you pair, Grant may enable wireless debugging when automation needs shell access, if you allow it. Shell grant/revoke commands apply only to target apps you selected — never to Grant itself.
Google Play
Purchase, refunds, install, and updates are handled by Google Play under Google’s terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details.
Children
Grant is not directed at children. It requires Developer Options and wireless debugging and is intended for adults configuring their own device.
Retention and deletion
Data lives on the device until you clear app storage or uninstall Grant. Uninstalling removes local Grant data. Revoke/restore controls in the app can drop granted permissions without uninstalling.
Your choices
- Do not enable automation until you have reviewed profiles and permissions.
- Pause a profile or turn automation off at any time.
- Deny optional Android permissions you do not need (for example calendar, if you do not use blackouts).
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
